Bhubaneswar: The Sisir Saras 2026, which concluded Tuesday, registered a record business worth Rs 30 crore and a footfall of over five lakh people, official sources said.

“The remarkable achievement (of Rs 30 crore business) surpasses the previous record, clearly reflecting the growing consumer demand for local products and a significant positive transformation in the livelihoods of rural artisans and self-help groups (SHGs),” they said.

“A record 400 stalls, including a large food court offering a wide variety of traditional delicacies, were set up this year.

To ensure extensive outreach, a special promotional video was screened in cinema halls across the state, resulting in an impressive footfall of over five lakh visitors, who actively supported local entrepreneurs,” they pointed out.

With a focus on inclusive and holistic development, the 2026 edition introduced several ‘first-ever’ initiatives.

For the first time in the history of Sisir Saras, daily workshops on business growth and modern marketing were organised for SHGs and new entrepreneurs.

A dedicated ‘Kids’ Zone’ was also introduced, transforming the fair into a truly family-friendly destination.

Additionally, an innovative fashion show was organised for the first time to showcase Odisha’s rich handloom heritage to contemporary audiences. For the first time, a ‘Kite Show’ was organised by ORMAS on the occasion of Makar Sankranti.
