Six injured as carrier auto-rickshaw rolls down into farmland

Hinjilicut:  Six female labourers were injured critically after a carrier auto-rickshaw skidded off the road and rolled down into a farmland near Pochilima square in Hinjilicut Tehsil of Ganjam District Monday evening.

The injured female labourers have been identified as Narmada Das (18), Manisha Das (18), Baby Das (30), Tamala Das (55), Monalisha Das (18) and Manini Das (18) of Pochilima village in Hinjilicut Tehsil.

After completion of their work at Hinjilicut, the labourers were returning to their village in the auto-rickshaw when the driver lost control of the vehicle near the Pochilima square leading to the mishap.

The locals immediately rushed them to Hinjilicut Hospital where they underwent treatment. Manini and Baby were shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur as their condition deteriorated.

On being informed, police reached the spot and started a probe into the matter.
