Bhubaneswar: Police Saturday arrested a man who was accused of throwing his 60-year-old mother off the house terrace. He was identified as Kapil Prasad Mohanty from Chintamaniswar area near Laxmisagar here.
Locals rescued the woman and admitted her to a hospital. The incident came to the fore after the police recorded the woman’s statement at the hospital.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team nabbed Mohanty from Chintamaniswar area.
He was then produced in a court and was later remanded in judicial custody.
As per reports, the incident occurred June 3. The mother-son duo had a dispute over some property issues. In a fit of rage, Mohanty threw off his mother from the roof of their house.
