Keonjhar: Despite strict rules passed by the Supreme Court for the protection of parents, many of them still find themselves abandoned after they turn old.
In one such instance, an elderly man Bisu Mohanty was seen wandering here as his son had allegedly kicked him out of the house.
Mohanty hails from Patna block where he has land but now-a-days he is begging from door-to-door for a living. When the locals asked him about his family, he said that he is a married man and a victim of torture by his son.
With the help of district authorities he is getting free medical help but no one is there to look after him, he added.
Locals felt pity and served him food after hearing his heart-wrenching ordeal.
His health condition is deteriorating day by day as he wanders around looking for the next meal.
Locals have demanded help for Mohanty from the administration.
