Keonjhar: A teenager fell into Bhimkund waterfall in Keonjhar district Friday while taking selfie during a picnic.
The boy went missing and has since remained untraceable. Locals feared he was dead.
On being informed, Fire personnel and ODRAF team reached the spot and initiated rescue operation. Till last reports came in, the student was yet to be traced.
The victim has been identified as a student of Sai Sikshya Junior College at Madhupatna in Cuttack.
Sources said the incident occurred while the boy had gone to the tourist spot along with his friends for picnic. While clicking a selfie in his mobile phone near Bhimkund, the student slipped and was washed away in the waterfall.
Efforts are on to trace him, a senior fire tender team said.
