Students grasp machine learning

BHUBANESWAR: Cloud Study Jam, an intuitive event for students, was organised by Developers Student Club KIIT at Campus 15, KIIT (Deemed to be university) here Sunday.

The chief speaker of the event was Sanjib Parida, a machine learning expert from Orbonix Labs.  The attendees were KIIT students from 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th year from all branches of engineering.

Students who want to get start with Google Cloud can join ‘Developer Student Club KIIT’ as this is one of the best platforms to learn the tech.

Manzar Hasnain, Lead, DSC KIIT, kick started the session by briefing the attendees about working and impact of Developer Student Clubs around the world and in India. He shared stories of great developers who have created an impact in the society by helping the student as well as business community.

Sanjib Founder, Obonix Lab started his lecture with the basics of Machine Learning by stating cases of ML in fields like elimination of fake news, prediction of stock prices, engaging local markets and predicting a Prime Minister on sentiment analysis among others.

The attendees then got a chance to apply and learn more on Google Cloud Console which was a $55 course, which was completely sponsored by Google, Qwiklabs and Alphabet Incorporation.

Students got to learn how to query and interact with ML models on the web. They were given Cloud Study Jam stickers and badges. There was also a Twitter and Instagram competition where Deepanshu Singh, Himanshu Agariya and Abhishek Rout were declared as winners.

The event ended at 3 pm. All the participants interacted and networked with each other. The participants then took a group photo and went on their ways to apply with whatever they learned on the course.
