Bhubaneswar: Odisha cuestar Subrat Das emerged champion in the 10-red Steve Davis Snooker Cup after scraping past statemate Soubhagya Behera 4-3 at the 147 Snooker Academy in Ranchi, Wednesday.
With this victory Subrat becomes the first cueist from the state to win back to back open titles outside the state. Subrat is now on a hat-trick as from Wednesday onwards 6-Red Snooker Tournament started. If Subrat wins the tournament then it will be a hat-trick of title for him.
In the final Soubhagya played some fantastic snooker at the beginning taking a lead of 2-0 and hit a superb break of 64 in the second frame. Subrat bounced back and leveled 2-2. Soubhagya then made it 3-2. Then Subrat played some tricky snooker with strong nerves and sealed the frame and the match 4-3.
