Keonjhar, July 31: Thirty two medal winners of the district in the recently-concluded 30th State Level Taekwondo Championship at Bhubaneswar were felicitated by Keonjhar Taekwondo Association (KTA) here Friday.
A 41-member team of Keonjhar under coach Ajay Patra and manager Laxmipriya Maha participated in the meet. The team finished with 13 gold, nine silver and 10 bronze medals.
Change of medal
According to a late official confirmation Rajesh Meher of Orissa has been awarded silver instead of bronze in the 400 metres of the ongoing Special Olympic World Games at Los Angeles, Thursday. He secured the second position with timing of 1.11.80 seconds. The organisers had mistakenly informed that Rajesh had won a bronze. Meanwhile Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik congratulated Rajesh for his achievements, Friday.
Prakash honoured
The All India Samata Sainik Dal honoured Area director of Special Olympics Bharat, Orissa Prakash Rath at the Bhima Bhoi Kalyan Mandap in Sambalpur, Thursday. Praksh has been honoured for his contribution towards protection and realisation of the rights of the differently- abled persons of Orissa.
Wushu camp
Wushu Association of Orissa (WAO) organised a camp at the PUMAS sports complex in Bhubaneswar July 26-31. Thirty male and female participants took part in the camp under the guidance of SAI coaches Pradyumna Behera and Umesh Kumar Yadav. Based on the performance in the camp Orissa team has been selected for the forthcoming Junior National Wushu Championship at Mandi, Himachal Pradesh September 27- October 1.

Football Association of Orissa (FAO) members expressed their heartfelt condolences over the sad demise of veteran footballer Babaji Charan Behera, Friday. He was 60. He had represented the state in the Santosh Trophy.
