Mumbai: The rapid rate of technological advancement post-liberalisation and the advent of globalisation opened India to a billion opportunities. For those quick enough to exploit this future mega resource, ‘The Crazy Entrepreneur’ and the life of Mudassir Mandviwala is a lesson for all. At barely 13 years of age, while most teens were still deciding what the future looks like, Mandviwala was helping his elder brother create software and mobile applications to further the cause of the latter’s Rotaract club. A self-taught programmer and computer geek, Mudassir Mandviwala has come a long way and is now helping shape India’s social media entertainment industry.
The Crazy Entrepreneur took birth in 2014 and since then it has been leading the influencer market and the overall Indian imagery. Mudassir attributes his early age success to critically studying, analysing, and understanding the social media environment. Prior to starting TCE, Mandviwala has worked on campaigns for online blogging outlets and organisations. Over time, his experiences helped recognize the missing links in the industry. He underlined the lack of personal relationships between brands and marketing coupled with the digital gaps and lack of a dedicated platform that nurtures and develops influencers and social media industry. He adds, “The importance of building a personal relationship with your audience, co-workers, influencers and most of all your campaigns and work is that enables ownership. The degree of involvement increases manifolds when we take charge and invest our best in the content which we create. It shapes how our audiences engage and if we are able to get our message across. Apart from the digital and technical aspects of influencer markets, it is crucial that we enable and develop an environment of freedom of creativity as well.”
After establishing a flourishing ecosystem by collaborating with Indian and global influencers, The Crazy Entrepreneur is eyeing upcoming trends, especially for native markets. Mandviwala hopes to see the industry flourish and dominate in the next five to ten years. Emphasising on increasing productivity while creating quality content, TCE is pushing for more originality. Alongside, Mudassir, in partnership with Adnan Shaikh (07), Amaan Furniturewala, and Amreen Syed is all set to roll out their first studio, Kontent in Mumbai this week. Among the upcoming trends which the industry might see, studio spaces and multiple collaborations among influencers top the list. Keeping that in mind, Mandviwala is helping create a space where influencers can work with other social media personalities as well as artists and businesses. Apart from encouraging the collab-content culture, Kontent Studio will also be one of the first studios in the country which will be 100% fully customisable according to the platform/ brand requirements.
The future of the influencer market in India signals an upward growth trend despite the lockdown. Given the far-reaching audience capacity and better engagement rates, the influencer market has completely overturned the mantras of marketing industry. Exploiting this opportunity, Mandviwala says it is the best time to push for more content, especially the kind which connects with the audiences. He also expects India’s interest in developing a digital economy will also give a mega boost to the social media vertical. This is important for most of all social media has been able to bring out talent from countryside and small towns. Pushing in the same direction and tapping more potential talent, Mudassir Mandviwala is reaching to expand and lead the country’s digital marketing and social media platforms to exponential heights.
