Malkangiri: Teachers of Tarlakota Government High School in Malkangiri district Friday launched a new initiative ‘Nije Padhibi, Nije Badhibi’ to make education student-oriented.
Sources said the programme contains guidelines for students, on how to be attentive in classes, attend school regularly, clear doubts from classmates or teachers, write answers on their own by reading notebooks, accept books as good friends and consider studies as one’s foremost responsibility.
On Teachers’ Day the students of Tarlakota Government High School took an oath to focus on studies. If a student takes interest in studies it will never become uninteresting, Headmaster Karunakar Mallick said.
In the programme’s first phase, the teachers have included students of Class-X, and if successful in arousing the interest of students in studies, the students from Class-VI onwards will be included in the next session.
The school’s teachers hope that if education is made student-oriented, imparting quality education would no more be a wishful idea. Tarlakota sarpanch Somanath Barse donated sports equipment to the school on the occasion.
