Mohana: A school teacher was found by his wife, hanging from a ceiling fan in his bedroom at Badasindhaba village under Mohana police limits in Gajapati district Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Manoj Kumar Nayak. According to sources, Nayak was working as a teacher at a primary school in Berhampur.
While no exact reason of his extreme step was known immediately, cops have seized a suicide note from his room. The body was seized and sent for autopsy.
Nayak’s wife, Gayatri informed that he was under mental duress for the past few days which might have forced him to take the extreme step.
“He was alleged of misbehaving with a girl in the bus some days back while he was going to school. After the incident, some people started criticising him in public which stressed him mentally,” said Gayatri.
Mohana police station sub-inspector (SI), Alok Jagadala informed, “Prima facie investigation reveals that Nayak committed suicide by hanging himself. We have also recovered a suicide note from the room and will examine it.”
