Digapahandi: A man was killed and his son suffered serious injuries after a pick-up van hit the bike they were travelling on National Highway-326 near Gokarnapur bus stand Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Prasant Kumar Rath, a teacher and resident of Niladri Vihar in Digapahandi.
He was going back home with his ailing son Satish after consulting a doctor at MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur.
Locals rushed both of them to the Digapahandi health centre where doctors pronounced Prasant dead. Satish has been referred to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur.
Police registered a case and sent the body for post-mortem.
