Balasore: Locals were agitated when teachers of Buanl Upgraded UP School in Balasore district made their students carry bricks Friday. Angry over the incident, the guardians locked the school.
Reports said bricks were brought to the school Thursday for a new building. Teachers had asked the students to shift the bricks inside the classroom.
There were bruises on the hands of some students. Learning about the matter, some guardians took up the issue with the teachers, who allegedly misbehaved with them. The villagers drew the attention of district education officer (DEO) Hrushikesh Kandi to this issue and sought action against the teachers.
The DEO said on getting the complaint, he has asked the block resources centre coordinator to probe the matter. Action will be taken only after he gets the report. PNN
