Keonjhar: Telkoi MLA Vedvyas Nayak was injured after his party workers assaulted him during a party meeting at Gundichaghagi under Harichadanpur block Sunday. The incident has exposed the anger of the party workers with the local MLA.
According to reports, as the meeting was continuing, a group of party workers suddenly came to blows. In the process, disgruntled BJD workers assaulted Nayak in the presence of BJD district unit president and other functionaries. The injured MLA was admitted to Harichandanpur CHC.

The attack on the MLA escalated tension at the meeting venue amid allegations that supporters of rural development minister Badri Nayaran Patra attacked the MLA.
However the minister dismissed the allegation, making it clear that those who have attacked the MLA were not his supporters. Action will be taken against those who are involved in it, Patra said.
BJD district unit president Ashish Chakraborty said that some youths who were involved in the attack have been identified. The condition of the MLA is stable. PNN
