Dharmasala, May 8: A man Tuesday died of suffocation while cleaning a well in the Gokaneswar Mahadev temple premises near Brahmani river under Dharmasala police limits in Jajpur district. The deceased was identified as Nanda Kishore Padhi (33), son of late Padmanav Padhi of Niladeipur village. Nanda was working as the priest of the temple.
Sources said, Nanda felt suffocated as soon as he entered the well and felt into it. On being alerted, fire fighters reached the spot and rescued Padhi from the well and admitted him to Dharmasala community health centre (CHC). However, he died while undergoing treatment.
Police registered a case of unnatural death and sent the body for post-mortem to Barchana community health centre (CHC).
