Mumbai: Be it the son or daughter of a successful actor or a newcomer, success is never guaranteed in the Hindi film industry. There have been plenty of instances where after a blockbuster debut an actor/performer has simply faded away into oblivion. In some cases, the performers are themselves to blame while at times various other factors not in their control lead to their downfall. Vivek Oberoi
Vivek Oberoi made a dream debut with Company starring Ajay Devgn and Manisha Koirla. His power-packed performance prompted many to say that the next superstar of the Hindi cinema has arrived. However, Vivek’s focus veered and he entered into a confrontation with Salman Khan over Aishwarya Rai (not Bachchan at that time). It has been alleged that Salman saw to it that Vivek’s career never took off. Many others stated that Vivek should have concentrated on his career rather than focusing on his love life.
Abhijeet Bhattacharya
Famous playback singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya ruled the hearts of the audiences at a time. He used to lend his voice regularly for Salman and Shah Rukh Khan. However, an outburst against SRK ruined his career. Shah Rukh saw to it that Abhijeet never again sang for him. He also allegedly asked Salman (at that time SRK’s friend) to shut the door on Abhijeet’s face.
Shakti Kapoor
Actor Shakti Kapoor made a place for himself in the film industry both as a villain and comedian. However, in 2005 allegations of sexual harassment surfaced against Shakti Kapoor. Since then his career has slowly gone downhill.
Shiney Ahuja
Actor Shiney Ahuja made his debut with actress Kangana Ranaut. Everyone spoke highly about him. However, Shiney was accused of raping his maid in 2009. He was behind the bars for a lengthy period and since then not much of him has been heard again after his release.
Fardeen Khan
Fardeen Khan is son of the legendary Feroz Khan. With his skills and acting histrionics, many thought Fardeen was a star in the making. However, alleged drug abuse led to his downfall.
