New Delhi: Fans will do anything to show their love for the celebrities they idolise. There can be no doubt, that Indian skipper Virat Kohli has millions of admirers all over the world. However, there are quite a few who really stand out among the thousands and thousands of fans that Kohli has.
One such fan is Pintu Behera of Odisha. Pintu has been following Kohli’s career since the batsman burst into the international scene. Whenever, Kohli plays in India, this fan tries to attend the game. The series deciding game between India and the West Indies at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack will be no exception to Pintu’s aspiration.
But then what makes Pintu stand out among other fans? Well as ‘a mark of respect and admiration’ Pintu has inked 16 tattoos of Virat Kohli on his body.
“I have followed cricket since my childhood. I became a fan of Virat Kohli because of his style of batting,” Pintu has been quoted as saying by a national news channel.
The 26-year-old then decided in 2016 to get Kohli’s tattoos inked on his body. “Initially, I did not have money to make the tattoos. So I started saving money,” informed Pintu. He added that so far he has spent over Rs 1,00,000 to get the 16 permanent tattoos inked on his body.
“I go to watch every cricket match of Virat Kohli within the country. I did not get the chance to go abroad and watch Kohli’s matches. But I will certainly do so when I save enough money,” added Pintu.
Pintu feels he is very lucky that he has been able to meet Kohli once during a Test match between India and South Africa in Vizag earlier in October.
“I didn’t imagine that he would meet and hug me. It was a special moment for me. I had been waiting to meet him since 2016. Finally, I got the opportunity to meet him during Test Match between India and South Africa at Visakhapatnam in October,” said Pintu.
Well, one can be sure that he will certainly be present at the Barabati Stadium to lead the chorus, “Kohhliii, Kohhliii”. No doubt about that.
