Bhubaneswar: Three accused held on the charges of theft, fled from the custody of Nandankanan model police station, Thursday afternoon, here. However, cops again captured the trio after few hours till the last news came in.
According to sources, Nilakantha Rout of Raghunathpur area under the Nandankanan police station lodged a complaint about theft of bathroom and kitchen fittings from his house. Police later arrested one habitual offender, P Sinnu Reddy of Sikharchandi area. Two other aides of Reddy were also arrested by police suspecting their complicity in the theft.
However, Thursday around 3 pm, taking advantage of sloppy security at the station, the trio fled by breaking the lock of the prison inside the station.
However, cops succeeded in arresting two of the accused persons three hours after the escape while the third was arrested at around 7.30 pm Thursday evening.
