Soro: Three youths suspected to be child-lifters were mercilessly beaten up by a mob near here in Balasore district Tuesday. The incident took place at Talanagar village under Sabira panchayat.
Locals said the youths were roaming around the village streets on a motorcycle Tuesday noon. Their movements appeared to be suspicious and a group of angry villagers accused the three of being child-lifters, detained them, and bashed them up.
The youths were beaten for nearly half an hour before a team of Soro police reached the spot and rescue them. The victims were rushed to a local primary health care centre. A case has been registered and investigations are on.
