Rourkela, May 7: Three youths, including one who was on a visit here from Mumbai drowned while taking bath in river Brahmani on the outskirts of the city. One youth slipped into deep water while taking bath at Tarkera Ghat and the other two, while trying to save the youth, were also dragged by strong current.
Police and fire brigade rushed to the spot and retrieved the bodies. “By the time fire brigade reached the site everything was over,” said DSP of Panposh area, Tushar Jena.
The deceased were P Shyam Babu, P Sarada Babu (both brothers) and Pankaj Tambe of Wadala in Mumbai. He was on a visit to Rourkela to attend the marriage of the elder brother of the Shyam and Sarada.
