Cuttack: Two tiger cubs were reportedly spotted in a locality under Choudwar police limits in Cuttack district Wednesday night. It created fear and apprehension among the residents of the locality.
Sources said, people spotted the two tiger cubs sitting on the road that passes through Damani forest. As news spread others also gathered to catch a sight of the tiger cubs. The cubs sat on the road for more than two hours disrupting the flow of traffic. Locals tried to chase them away, but they did not budge. They went back into the forest only after cars and other vehicles started honking incessantly creating a din.
However, the appearance of the cubs has led people to believe that the mother must be nearby. So people are not venturing out of their houses. Vehicular movement through the same stretch of road decreased substantially Thursday. Local residents alleged the forest department is yet to take any step in this regard.
Meanwhile the video of the cubs sitting on the road has gone viral on various social media platforms.
