Dharmasala: In a shocking incident, a man battered his 10-month old daughter to death following a quarrel with his wife under the influence of liquor at Bhubanpur village under Jenapur police station limits in Jajpur district Friday, a report said Saturday.
The deceased, Satyabhama, alias Bebina, was the daughter of Nanda Kishore Mallick. The accused is absconding since the incident. The relatives tried to rescue the baby girl and rushed her to the Dharmasala Community Health Centre where the doctors advised shifting of the child to SCB Medical College and Hospital at Cuttack.
She however, succumbed to her injuries on the way to the SCB. Jenapur police have registered a case and sent the body for post-mortem. Police launched a manhunt to nab Mallick unsuccessfully.
