Kendrapara: Vigilance sleuths Wednesday raided five government offices, including two tehsil offices in Kendrapara and collected important documents related to Tito alias Sayed Ushman Ali’s business empire.
The sleuths led by DSPs PK Nayak, Saroj Samal and Susant Kumar Sen held an inquiry at the Garadapur and Derabish tehsil offices, RTO, Kendrapara Municipality and sub registrar office and collected documents on Tito’s vehicles and a land lease taken from Kendrapara municipality for Sayed Brothers’ filling station.
The sleuths collected documents from Derabish tehsil on four sand sariyats of Baspur, Danpur, Mangalpur and Bhagabatpur. The sand sariyats were taken by Tito either in the name of his relatives or his associates, said Derabish tehsildar Kanhu Charan Lenka. The sleuths also collected Tito’s sand sariyat documents from Garadpur tehsildar.
They asked RTO Nikhil Kumar Pattnaik to provide detailed documents on 26 vehicles which were registered in the names of Tito and his relatives. “The documents on 10 vehicles out of 26 have been provided to Vigilance today while the remaining papers will be handed over Thursday,” Pattnaik said. Vigilance personnel also raided the Kendrapara Municipality Office and collected lease papers of five decimal land in plot numbers 381, 382 of Kendrapara municipality provided to Tito on a three year lease for his Sayed Brothers’ filling station.
The Vigilance also inquired about the valuation of the five-decimal land from Kendrapara sub registrar. The sleuths also collected documents from RTO Chandikhole and Cuttack.
The STF Tuesday handed over case records to Vigilance after the STF came to know during interrogation of Tito that he had earned crores of rupees through the good offices of some officials of the Kendrapara district administration and the police.
The STF found that Tito’s was a rags to riches story with undue favours granted by some Collectors, sub collectors, tehsildars, CSOs, revenue officials, RTOs, executive engineers, senior clerks of the works and engineering departments, former SPs, SDPOs and inspectors of Kendrapara.
The DSP of STF Priya Ranjan Satpathy Wednesday produced Tito before JMFC court to get him in remand. The STF requested the court to grant Tito on seven days remand, but the JMFC of Rajnagar granted only four days.
The Special Task Force (STF) last Wednesday produced four associates of Tito in JMFC court of Rajnagar for allegedly threatening contractor Premanand Lenka for `7 crore. Lenka was executing irrigation projects in Aul under Patamundai irrigation division.
The district unit of the BJP Wednesday demanded that the CBI should probe the criminal and financial angles of Tito cases. The CBI should probe Tito’s links with babus, political leaders and police, said Duryodhan Sahu, the BJP’s district president.
