Traffic disrupted as NH-20 stretch sinks

Aradi: Traffic on the Aradi-Jajpur route on National Highway-20 was disrupted after a portion of the road near a creek sank one-ft near here in Bhadrak district Monday.

The road sank after floodwater was drained following a decrease in the water level in the river. The affected 25-ft long stretch lies in between Sathibankuda and Bodak villages. This has disrupted communication to Bhubaneswar and Cuttack on the route.

Commuters had a harrowing time in reaching their destinations with the public transport staying off the highway.

Locals have urged the authorities to immediately repair the road and restore communication.

The highway originating from Bakhtiarpur in Bihar passes through Parsora, Kendujhargarh, Panikoili, Kuakhia, Jajpur, Aradi, Chandbali and Rajkanika before terminating at Satabhaya in Odisha.
