Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar traffic police Saturday seized more than 50 vehicles from traffic rules violators in the city, a source said Saturday.
The traffic police seized vehicles from people who were flouting traffic norms such as driving on wrong route and using loud aftermarket silencer pipes.
“As per the directions of Traffic DCP and Bhubaneswar DCP, we carried out a special enforcement drive in various places of Bhubaneswar. People whose vehicles have been seized under the drive will need to pay the fine at the SDJM court and get a release order. We will release their vehicles after getting the order,” said Traffic IIC Debendra Biswal.
Biswal further added that the vehicle owners who used loud silencers need to get rid of them before getting back their vehicles.
It may be mentioned here that even after constantly spreading awareness messages, traffic violation is still rampant in the city.
