Koraput, April 6: The secretary of the Shabar Srikhetra temple management committee, Krushna Chandra Panigrahi, who was also the director of the tribal museum at Koraput, passed away because of cardiac arrest at his residence here Monday morning. He was 75.
Several politicians, local administration officials and eminent persons of the district, including Koraput MP Jhina Hikaka, Jeypore MLA Taraprasad Bahinipati, former MLA Gupta Prasad Das, Koraput collector Yamini Sarangi, superintendent of police Charan Singh Meena and DRDA project director Samartha Verma went to his residence and offered final tributes to him. The last rites were held at a cremation ground on the outskirts of Koraput town.
Panigrahi will always be remembered for his contribution to the establishment of Women’s College and BEd College, as well as the tribal museum and several other institutions in Koraput.
