 Pramila Kirsani of Orissa clinched three gold medals, while Swarupa Purty bagged a bronze medal in different events of the women’s category in the National Weightlifting Championships cuurently on at Jaipur. Pramila lifted 177kg Thursday, including 77kg in snatch and 100kg in clean and jerk to secure three yellow metals in all these events. She topped all the three segments to emerge a convincing winner in the 53kg segment. Jyoti Mal of West Bengal got the silver medal finishing with a total lift of 172kg while Diksha Gaewkad (171kg) of Maharashtra bagged bronze.

Meanwhile, Swarupa secured the third position in the snatch event of the 58kg category by lifting a total of 80 kg. However, she failed to emulate her feat in the clean and jerk and thereby dropped out of the overall medal contention.
