Bhubaneswar,Dec 28: Six days after Mancheswar police arrested television actor Nitushree Swain and her friend Biswajit Mallick in connection with the murder of Ritesh Choudhary (20), Nitushree’s mother Sanjukta Swain accused the cops of implicating her daughter in the case.
“Nitushree was sleeping in my room October 16 when Ritesh fell from the terrace. Nitushree never said she pushed Ritesh from the terrace,” Sanjukta claimed.
Sanjukta rejected claims that the death was the fallout of a love triangle involving Ritesh, Nitushree and Biswajit.
The actor’s mother said their family was on good terms with Ritesh’s family, and had rushed him to hospital and contacted his parents immediately after knowing of Ritesh’s fall from the terrace.
“After attempts by Ritesh’s family to drag Nitushree into the case, the cops falsely implicated her,” Nitushree’s cousin said.
The cousin said it was suspicious as to why police arrested Nitushree two months after the incident had occurred.
Earlier, police said Nitushree, Biswajit and Ritesh had consumed alcohol and later asked Ritesh to fetch cigarettes from the terrace. “The duo admitted to pushing Ritesh from the terrace,” police had said.
