Boudh: Two officials of a forest department patrolling party were injured critically when unidentified miscreants opened fire at them near Khaliapali square of Baghiapada forest area under Boudh forest range late Tuesday night.
The injured forest officials were admitted to Boudh District Headquarters hospital.
While one of the injured got gunshot injuries on his shoulder the other was shot on his back.
A source said that the miscreants, suspected to be wildlife mafias, came in a motorcycle and fled
from the spot after firing at the forest officials.
Boudh DFO Debapriya said the attack was made at around 1.30 AM. Inquiry is on and the
miscreants have not yet been identified.
Police deployment in the area has been increased after the incident.
