Bhubaneswar, April 26: Commissionerate police said Tuesday they will pray to court to attach two more cases against sex racket kingpin Sunil Meher.
“We will pray to court to attach two more cases against Meher. One case which is registered against him at Chandrasekharpur police station and another case which is registered against him at Nayapalli police station. We will also urge the court to cancel Meher’s nine bail applications as he continued to be in the flesh trade business even after being let off. Inspectors of nine police stations will approach the assistant public prosecutors and they will urge the court to cancel Meher’s bail applications,” twin city police commissioner YB Khurania told newsmen.
On being asked about the information they gathered from Meher during his 4-day-remand, the police commissioner said they have collected the data about his ‘networking’ and the business modus operandi.
Sources said the police have gathered information about Meher’s associates who are running sex rackets in the city and about other pimps who are also involved in flesh trade here.
“The police have tracked down 15 to 20 pimps involved in sex rackets in the city. They will carry out raids to nab those miscreants,” they added.
Meher, who was brought on a four-day remand by Nayapalli police, was arrested April 21 from Kolkata by quick action team (QAT) officials for running a high-profile sex racket in the city.
Meanwhile, Meher will be produced in a court Wednesday after his 4-day-remand gets over.
