Bhubaneswar: Two of the 26 critical patients, who had to be shifted to other private hospitals in the city following the fire incident at Apollo Hospitals February 2, died Sunday night.
Sahid Nagar Police identified the deceased as Shankarsan Dora (51), Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of Boudh, and Diptimayee Banerjee (78) of Kalinganagar in Jajpur district.
According to the police, Dora was admitted to Apollo Hospitals by his family members after he had a stroke January 28. Since he went into coma, he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Following the fire in the Hospital building February 2, he was shifted to AMRI Hospital where he died Sunday night.
Similarly, Banerjee was recently admitted to the ICU at Apollo Hospitals after her condition became critical. She was shifted to Kalinga Hospital February 2 where she died Sunday night.
