Bhubaneswar: A person lost his life in a road mishap near Aiginia Durga Mandap area under Khandagiri police limits Monday morning.
The deceased, Nirmal Kumar Sahoo (40) hailed from Niala village in Kendrapara district.
The incident occurred while he was inbound from Khurda in his Ford car. He lost control on the vehicle which skidded off the road after the vehicle’s tyre blew off half-way.
Locals claim that his chest might have been hit hardly on the steering wheel of the car due to the heavy jerk, leading to his death.
The car was veered into the main road from the service road on which it was plying. Later, it returned to the service road.
He was rushed to Capital Hospital by PRC van of Khandagiri police station. The medical officers declared him brought dead. His body is currently under examination for post-mortem.
