Bhubaneswar, June 27: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct University Grants Commission – National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) Sunday across the state. About 10,000 candidates are expected to appear for the test in Bhubaneswar, Berhampur and Sambalpur.
The online registration for the examination on the official website of CBSE NET concluded May 15. Candidates with a master’s degree and with a minimum score of 55 per cent were allowed to apply for the test.
The examination will be held for 84 subjects. The day-long test will be conducted in three papers. The first two papers will be 45 minutes each while Paper 3 will be for two and a half hours. The questions will be in objective format and candidates will answer on OMR sheets.
After completion of the test, successful candidates will become eligible for junior research fellowship and for assistant professors at different higher education institutions.
The test time for Paper 1 will be from 9:30 am to 10:45 am for which the candidates will have to report at 9 am. Examiners will distribute the booklets at 9:20 am and the candidates will be allowed to open the booklets at 9:25 am.
Similarly, Paper 2 will be held from 11:15 am to 12:30 pm. Candidates will enter the examination hall at 10:45 am and the last entry will be at 11:15 am. Paper 3 will be from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm for which the reporting time has been scheduled at 1:30 pm. Distribution of booklets by examiners will be done at 1:50 pm and opening of booklets at 1:55 pm.
CBSE has asked candidates to download their online admission cards from www.cbsenet.nic.in as the council has not sent any manual admit cards to students by post.
