Barang: A body was found lying near Panchupal Tarini temple under Barang police limits of Cuttack district Wednesday morning.
The identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.
Local residents spotted the body of the man lying near the temple and informed the cops.
On being informed, Barang police reached the spot and started an investigation into the matter. The body was later sent for postmortem. It bears critical injuries on the head which makes it difficult to identify the deceased, locals said.
While the exact cause behind the death of the man is yet to be known, preliminary investigation by the police suggests it to be a case of murder.
