Cuttack, Feb 10: The Vigilance department Tuesday raided the office of the superintendent, SCB Medical College and Hospital.
According to sources, a six-member team of Cuttack Vigilance department raided the office in the afternoon and continued the searches for three hours. Documents related to user fees and related papers were seized by the team.
The documents of the bank wherein the user fees of SCB medical college and hospital are deposited will be examined in detail, informed Vigilance additional superintendent of police Amulya Das.
According to sources, the Vigilance raids were conducted upon reports of alleged irregularities in the functioning of the hospital’s accounts. Sources said more than Rs 40 lakh worth user fees has been usurped through illegal means and the complicity of as many as 23 employees of the hospital is alleged in the scam.PNN
