Jajpur: Tension ran high at Muraripur village near Dharmasala in this district Thursday morning after local people objected to the transportation of sand to the under-construction Ramco cement factory.
Dharmasala IIC Umakanta Nayak and his team reached the spot and have been trying to pacify the agitating villagers, according to reports.
Sources said Ramco has allegedly started the construction of its factory without consensus from the public. A local leader agreed to supply sand from Dharmasala ghat of Brahmani river bed to the factory site through Muraripur village.
When the villagers came to know about it, they opposed the move, reports added.
