Udala: A long cherished dream of the people of Teladihudi village in Udala block of Mayurbhanj district is going to be a reality soon.
A bridge across River Sona has been completed, and it will provide transportation links for Teladehudi and Himagadia villages. The people are awaiting completion of the bridge’s final works.
The villagers used to get cut off from the mainland during monsoons in the absence of bridges across River Sona. Reports say the people here had been suffering on the transportation front.
The construction of the bridge started November 27, 2016, and was completed well before the deadline. This bridge will provide transportation links to the people of Teladihudi, Dimagadia and other villages of Baradihi panchayat in Gopabandhunagar block.
“It will provide direct transport links to people of Rajberhampur and Nilagiri in Balasore district too,” said Rural Development Division SDO Satyabrat Nayak.
Prakash Ranjan Das, an engineer of the department, said the bridge will be of use to at least 20,000 people every day. The bridge was built at a cost of Rs 8.36 crore.
