A disturbing video from the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Bettiah, Bihar, has surfaced in which hospital staff can be seen dragging a body. The body was reportedly recovered from Bettiah Nautan Road in Palam City for post-mortem but was allegedly mishandled despite a stretcher being available.
According to a report, the police took custody of the unidentified body before it was taken to the GMCH. Eyewitnesses claimed that instead of carrying the body on a stretcher, the hospital staff dragged it to the post-mortem room. The viral video of the incident, which was widely shared on social media, has raised questions about the hospital’s care standards.
Locals alleged that this is not the first such case, citing earlier instances of negligence at GMCH, including a recent video of children dragging their ailing father on a stretcher for treatment. Despite the outrage, the GMCH administration is yet to issue a statement. The hospital officials’ silence has fueled criticism of both the hospital management and local authorities.

OrissaPOST could not independently verify the authenticity of the video.
An eyewitness told reporters that the body was “dragged to the post-mortem house in front of the public.” He added that the act had “hurt the sentiments” of the community. Residents claimed similar acts of insensitivity have occurred before, but there is no apparent accountability from senior health officials.
