Bhubaneswar: Voting for State Bank of India’s ‘YONO 20 under Twenty’, an initiative to recognise and reward young achievers below 20 years of age across 10 fields, has opened.
The bank plans to honour achievers under heads including sustainability, performing arts, acting, entrepreneurship or innovation, sports, global Indian and disability champion. YONO 20 Under Twenty was initiated last October and 100 youngsters, who went beyond enjoying their teenage years and visualised changing the world, were identified.
The list was boiled down to 60 with 30 male and 30 female nominees. These were short-listed by a panel of 8 eminent personalities, including actors Soha Ali Khan and Dia Mirza, sports journalist and author Boria Majumdar, Microsoft India MD Sashi Sreedharan, MD and CEO of NPCI Dilip Asbe, and Social Media Influencer Mallika Dua.
The jury shortlisted three names (3 males and 3 females) under each category. Eventually, one winner will be picked from each category. Winners will be decided by online public voting that opened January 14 and closes January 27. People can vote by logging on to www.yonosbi20under20.com.
The 60 nominees for the prize include names such as actors Faisal Khan, Zaira Wasim, athlete Hima Das, cricketer Prithvi Shaw and global Indian Sparsh Shah. Winners will be felicitated and conferred with the awards at a ceremony February 04 in Bangalore.
