As soon as the matter came to light, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed strong displeasure. He stated clearly that such inhuman acts will not be tolerated under any circumstances and directed the police to take strict action against everyone involved.
According to media reports, the name of the victim is Sirisha. Her husband, Thimmarayappa, had borrowed Rs 80,000 from a man named Muniknappa but failed to repay it on time. In the video, Sirisha is seen tied to a roadside tree while a woman repeatedly slaps her.
A few days ago, Sirisha had returned to her village from Bengaluru to collect her child’s school transfer certificate. On her way, she was intercepted by Muniknappa, his wife, daughter-in-law, and son. They demanded repayment and the confrontation escalated quickly into violence. Sirisha was surrounded and humiliated in a manner that has shocked the nation.
