Why income certificate, wonder students

Bhubaneswar: The admission to Plus II courses for 2017-18, being monitored by School and Mass Education Department, which commenced Monday, requires students to apply online through Common Application Form (CAF) available on www.dheodisha.gov.in.
Students seeking admission offline through CAF, available at SAMS Resource Centre (SRC), can submit forms till June 8. The first round merit list will be published June 13 and admissions between June 16 and 19. Similarly, the second selection list will be published June 22 and admissions will take place from June 24 to 28. The first year classes will commence July 6.
Similarly, the third merit list will be published July 3 and admissions for the same will take place from July 5 to 6.
Some students faced difficulties when the authorities demanded income certificate of their parents. Many students were surprised as they did not have information about this certificate.
When contacted Mihir Das, head of e-admission department for the junior colleges, he said Income certificate is not mandatory while submitting the common application form (CAF).
