Cuttack: Biki Sethy scored a hat-trick and Madan Soren netted a brace as Western Mahaveer Club (WMC) blanked Sunshine Club 7-0 in a match of FAO 1st Division football league here at Barabati Stadium, Saturday.
After Susanta Sethi (eighth) opened the account for Western Mahaveer, it was the turn of Biki (33rd, 42nd, 81st), Madan (45th, 75th) and Sk Rehan (76th) to complete the rout.
In another match of the day, Rising Star Club easily pocketed full points as their opponents Independent Club gave a walkover.
Contrasting wins
Sainik School and DAV Chandrasekharpur registered contrasting victories over their respective opponents in different matches of the Inter-School football tournament at the Unit-VI High School Ground here Saturday.
Sainik School triumphed over Palasuni High School 3-0. Amit Kumar Singh, Subham Raj and Shiv Shankar Hembram struck once each for the winning team who dominated the match completely. Subham was adjudged man of the match for his excellent soccer skills.
Earlier on the day DAV Chandrasekharpur pipped St Xavier’s Khandagiri by a solitary goal. Kumar Ashutosh scored the only goal of the match and bagged the man of the match prize.
