Parajang: A woman sustained critical injuries in an attack by a tusker at Majhika village under Mahibirod forest range in Dhenkanal district Tuesday.
Saibani Pradhan was returning home from her farmland when she face-to-face with a tusker. The animal picked her by its truck and threw her away. The woman suffered critical injuries.
The tusker could have trampled her but fled when people working nearby raised an alarm. Locals rescued and rushed her in ambulance to Parajang hospital from where she was shifted to the district headquarters hospital after primary treatment.
