Puri: The fall of a tree branch at the Jagannath temple here injured a woman devotee Tuesday. The incident came four days after woman devotee Basanti Rout of Damapada in Banki area was injured in the fall of a small piece of plastered cement on her near the Nata Mandap inside the Jagannath temple.
The victim was Satilata Panda (65) of Baseli Sahi here. She was rushed to the district headquarters hospital here for treatment of head injury.
It is learnt that she was sitting under the mythical Banyan tree (Kalpa Bata Bruksha) and a tree branch broke off and fell on her head. She was bleeding from the injury, eye-witnesses said.
