Keonjhar: Tension prevailed at Keonjhar district headquarters hospital (DHH) Tuesday after a patient died due alleged medical negligence.
The family members of the patient created ruckus in the hospital premises blaming the medical staff for their alleged negligence in treating the patient who was in a critical condition.
According to family members of the deceased, the woman identified as Khirodini Patra of Naranpur village from Keonjhar outskirts was admitted to the hospital late Monday night owing to her illness.
The condition of the woman grew critical early Tuesday morning following which the doctor treating her recommended the hospital staff to put the patient on ventilator support. That said, no one turned up to follow the doctor’s instructions. She died Tuesday morning while waiting for the staff to help her out.
Family member of Khirodini alleged that the woman lost her life owing to negligence on part of the hospital staff. Soon after, they along with some locals created ruckus in the hospital and demanded action against the concerned staff.
