Bhapur: In a bizarre incident, a man from Bhapur area in Nayagarh district has been divorced by her husband just minutes before his fourth night.
The bride dumped the man after she saw him inebriated for the first time. The incident has become the talk of the town. It has been reported from Nakadein village under Fategarh police limits in Nayagarh district.
“The bridge divorced her husband, said family members, because the husband came home drunk before his fourth night.” She accused him of deceiving him.
“During marriage, he had said that he did not drink. But, I saw him in an inebriated state. He cheated me before marriage. So, I have decided to divorce him,” the woman said.
According to police, the bride of Bankei village under Bolgarh police limits in Khurda district had married to a youth of Nakadein village four days back. The marriage was solemnized properly.
However, just on the fourth day of the marriage, the bride called her family members and informed that she no longer wanted to stay with her husband and wanted a divorce immediately, leaving them in shock.
Worried family members, rushed to her home when she expressed that the groom was a habitual drunkard and she would not stay with him any longer. Despite repeated attempts to convince her, the bridge stayed firm in her decision and walked out to the local police station where she lodged a written complaint against her husband.
The girl, before police officials and village committee, handed over all the gold ornaments given to her by her in-laws during courtship. With no options left, the groom had to return all dowry items in a meeting presided by the cops and return back home.
