Gunupur: Police arrested a woman on charge of using counterfeit note of Rs 2,000 to buy a milk packet from a shop here in Rayagada district, Thursday.
The accused was identified as Rehman Biwi of Dera Sahi in Gunupur town. Police said the accused visited the shop and asked the milk vendor for a milk packet in exchange of Rs 2000 note.
The vendor got suspicious of the currency note and informed the police.
Police rushed to the spot and nabbed the woman. Later, police seized four counterfeit notes of Rs 2,000 denomination from her possession at her residence and her husband’s workshop. While the accused is being grilled by the cops, an investigation into the case is underway.
