Cuttack: A woman from Bhawanipatna area of Kalahandi district Wednesday lodged a complaint with the state Crime Branch (CB) here alleging that some people had killed her husband by poisoning him.
Complainant Sahida Begum claimed that the persons involved in the death of her husband have occupied their house. Sahida, in her complaint, informed the CB that she and her three children have been taking shelter at a burial ground at Bhawanipatna for last several years.
According to the complaint, a stray dog had bitten Sahida’s husband in 1999. Some people had poisoned her husband on the pretext of administering anti-rabies injections to him.
“Some people had killed my husband by poisoning him to grab our landed properties. I have been raising my three children by working as a daily worker,” said Sahida in her complaint.
Sahida claimed that she had lodged complaints regarding her husband’s death at Bhawanipatna Town police and at the offices of Kalahandi district collector and superintendent of police but to no avail.
“The CB should launch an impartial probe into my husband’s death and take action against the guilty,” Sahida said.
