Bhubaneswar: Three unidentified bike-borne unidentified miscreants snatched a gold chain from a woman in Jharpada area of the state capital Tuesday morning. The incident took place at around 7.00am when Manorama Sahoo was out for her daily morning walk. She tried to resist the miscreants who tugged at her chain. In the process, Manorama fell down and suffered bruises, it was learnt.
According to a source, the woman was on her regular morning walk Tuesday and was on her way to return home. The three youths were waiting for her near an apartment complex. As she got close to the building, one youth walked up to her and threatened her with a sharp weapon which he placed on her neck. He snatched the gold chain and the trio fled the spot on a motorcycle.
After receiving information about the snatching case, police have launched an operation to nab the accused. They are scanning the footage captured in the CCTV cameras installed in the locality, it was learnt.
