Cuttack: Work at Netaji Museum is on at a feverish pace with several new additions being made in honour of the legendary freedom fighter. More than 85 photos of Netaji and his family have been re-framed to protect them from damage at Janakinath Bhawan. While some of the pictures and letters written by Netaji were recovered from the museum, others were donated by his followers. An exhibition of rare pictures of immense historic value was organized at Janakinath Bhawan on the occasion of Netaji’s 118th birth anniversary. The interpretation centre of the museum too has been granted a Rs 45 lakh facelift, converting it into a conference hall. Altogether 32 CCTV cameras have been installed for upgradation of security at the museum. This year, museum authorities have also built a greenhouse inside the museum showcasing various types of orchids. Netaji was born January 23, 1897, in Odia Bazaar at Janakinath Bhawan which was converted into Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Birthplace Museum in 2004. Netaji spent his early childhood in Cuttack, where he completed his matriculation at Ravenshaw Collegiate School before leaving for Kolkata to pursue higher studies. PNN
